Why does the primate have a distinct advantage over the squirrel when climbing through the trees?

Actually, in reality squirrels rule when it comes to climbing trees!

The only advantage a primate has over squirrels in climbing in trees is binocular vision. In all other ways, a squirrel is better adapted for climbing (squirrels are specialized for life in the trees, while primates are typically more generalized, even those that spend most of their lives in the trees). However, primates have the ability to judge distances better than squirrels do because their eyes are located on the front of their heads, rather than on the sides. Squirrels have to jump and hope for the best. often you'll see them climb down a tree to climb up the next one.
I'm pretty sure squirrels have thumbs they only have three what we might refer to as 'fingers' but most defiantly have oposible thumbs there just not called thumbs, i think they might be called dew claws (don't quote me on that). so i am going with the distinct advantage is there brains. there higher brain functions mean that they can 'problem solve' their way through the trees. every swing presents a new problem about how high they have to jump, if the the jump is possible (smart enough to make that decision) and what are they going to grab on to/ land on, all these things taken in to account, it actually takes a lot of brain power to do this. and whilst squirrels are amazing and agile creatures, i think that the primate is in the long run the better climber, may not be as fast as squirrels, but faster doesn't make you better.
