If i climbed up a tree in pursuit of a squirrel and cornered the little fella would he jump for it?

I was out earlier in the park having a jog when i startled the little guy, he was just minding his own business looking for his nuts as a approached, he went up a tree and i got to thinking (maybe i have slightly too much time on my hands) - what would happen if i went up after him and followed him out to the furthest branch? Would he throw himself off in act of desperation through fear of what i had in store for him or would he accept his fate?If i climbed up a tree in pursuit of a squirrel and cornered the little fella would he jump for it?
First of all... your chances of ';cornering'; a squirrel in a tree... is about as solid as winning the lottery.... that is their environment and they excel in traversing in it...

Next... he would much more likely... jump your ragged butt... than ';jump for it';.... because these little fellas can be extremely aggressive and... quite capable of their own defense when frightened.

I once saw a squirrel tear the living God out of a midsized dog's face that got hold of one (only for a second)... the owner had almost 500 dollars in vet bills because of it... they may be ';cute';...but they can definitely be....wirey !!

i'm not a squirrel expert but i'd like to think he'd jump lol not because i want him dead but because i want too see if he'd live and how he would do it! no doubt in my mind though....you'd jump. AWAY FROM THE ONSLAUGHT OF RODENT FURRY!
like any cornered animal, he'd most likely attack you

squirrels can be really vicious and do a lot of damage when they want to!

unless there was another tree like a couple of foot away, then he'd make a jump for it

:)
He might jump at you in self defense.
