A baby squirrel fell out of a tree onto our doorstep. What should we do?

it was walking with what looked like a limp, but now it's just sitting there. I did a search online and it said that you should just let it lie where it is and that the mother is probably watching, but I don't know. it looks so sad. i feel really bad for it. Does anyone have experience with this? What should we do?A baby squirrel fell out of a tree onto our doorstep. What should we do?
Squirrels are retrievers, meaning if a baby falls out of a nest, they will go get it and return it safely. Unlike rabbits and some other animals. I would NOT touch it, and just leave it be. If the mother comes back for it, then good, if not, theres really not a whole lot you can do, Sad as it sounds, let mother nature take its course. If it was younger, and abandoned, I'd suggest bottle feeding it, but they are VERY hard to bottle feed since the nipple needs to be extremely small. But if its moving around, even with a limp, I'd let it be, and see what happensA baby squirrel fell out of a tree onto our doorstep. What should we do?
Call your local SPCA, or the animal control, so they can put you in touch with the wild life rescue if it is not listed in your phone book, as it is not in many areas.

They will either have you bring in the squirrel or will have someone come and pick it up.They have all necessary food and medical needs to raise the squirrel until it can be relished back into the wild. Do not try to keep it your self as it can be caring many disease that are harmful to humans.

Blessings and good luck
You could feed it to the cat.

Or go to the store and get a can of condensed goats milk.

Half it with water and feed it.

you can use a cotton swab, or call animal control.

It will not survive out of the nest.

If you can see the grown squirrels around they can carry it by the back of its neck.

Good luck.
just leave it

the mom will come back

if the moms not their by morining

ask on Y!A again
Step on its head and feed it to a cat.
leave it be
